2019 Release of GCE O-Level Results

On Monday 14 January 2019, graduating students from Northland Secondary School received their GCE O-level results.  All of them were given a warm welcome by Principal, Mdm Jennifer Tan Siew Woon.  After a briefing, the graduating students received their result slips from their respective Form Teachers. 98.5% of the students qualify for post-secondary education.
Some of the top students paid tribute to their teachers -

Zhang Tianyou (4R1), who scored 7 distinctions, paid tribute to his Form Teachers, Mr Lim Xian Yong and Mrs Phua Mei Teng as well as our Vice-Principal, Mr Daniel Yip for his success. Tianyou added, “I couldn't have achieved the good results without their help and dedication”

Nie Yi (4R1), who also scored 7 distinctions, said, “I am indebted to my teachers and school leaders in Northland. I love Northland.”

Yong Linxi (4R1) gave thanks to English Language teacher, Mr Derek Han for being a friend and standing by her through difficult times. Julian Ong (4R1) also thanked Mr Chen Weizhong and Mr Reuben Seow for their patience in explaining concepts to him. Jordan Lau (5R1) is grateful to Mr Latiff for his endless dedication in helping him with his Mathematics.

The students were asked what advice they would like to share with their juniors. Shawn Tan (5R1) and Kevin Chia (5R1) urged Northstars not to procrastinate and start early with their revision.  Lin Xiang (4R1) exhorted, “Believe in yourselves! Nothing is impossible for a willing mind!” Nie Yi cited a quote from Winston Churchill, “Success is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that matters.”
