Education and Career Guidance (ECG)
Education and Career Guidance (ECG) helps to equip our students with the necessary knowledge, skills and values to make important life choices at each key education stage for the successful transition from school to further education or work.
In NSS, extension activities are conducted to complement the MOE ECG curriculum to provide more opportunities for Northstars to explore viable education and career options;
- Lower Secondary:
- ECG Fairs for all Secondary 2 students
- Career Talks by NSS Alumni
- Upper Secondary:
- In-house interview skills workshop
- In-house talks by Polytechnics
- Elective Modules conducted in house by Polytechnics and the Institutes of Technical Education
D.A.R.E. (Daring, Adaptable and Resilient Enterprisers) (For Sec 1 students)
In NSS, the DARE programme aims to prepare our Secondary One students for life beyond school with an emphasis on an understanding of entrepreneurship. We believe there is an increasing need for our future generations to be able to quickly analyse complex issues, identify problems and gaps, develop new ideas, seize opportunities and, most importantly, to have the entrepreneurial dare to take action. DARE serves as a platform for students to learn and practise these skills through the creation of a product as well as generate possible revenue for the school community.
